Halo OCS, In One Mind: Chapter One

"You know sometimes I wish you weren't in my head all the time Caroline." Roy said to his A.I. in his helmet.
"Quit your whining buttercup and get moving, Infiltration team will be at the rendezvous point soon and you're the expert to take down that Covenant structure." She said with a tone.
"Yeah, yeah. You're just like a mother." Roy said getting on his mongoose.
"That's what it feels like sometimes." Caroline said with a sigh. Roy drove his mongoose to the rendezvous along the exploded Covenant vehicle chocked, bomb-crater ridden road.  The rendezvous was a staging area for the UNSC forces. When Roy reached the staging area, there were falcons waiting there and so was the infiltration team. The infiltration team was a team of ODSTs waiting outside of one of the falcons. Roy drove his mongoose to the motor pool and took the shotgun off the back of it and put it on his back. From the motor pool he walked to the meeting area were the team of the Odsts was waiting.
"They must be the infiltration team." Roy thought to himself. He could feel the tension almost instantly between him and the Odsts. There was a rivalry between Spartans and Odsts, but Roy never understood it.
"Hey Spartan! Better not screw this up, I have a buddy of mine that could do this mission a whole lot better than you!" An Odst member jeered from the group as Roy walked to the back.
"Pay them no attention." Caroline said, feeling Roy's stress between him and the Odsts. The Commander gave the mission brief.
"At 13:15 today our frigates encountered Covenant Anti-Air Craft guns along the Űbectck Valley. We do not want the Covenant to gain control of the skies, so we're sending in an infiltration team of Odsts and a Spartan demolition expert. Now I know there is rivalry between your two groups, but you'll keep it professional. We don't need anyone losing their life because you couldn't put your rivalry behind you for the sake of the mission. Do I make myself clear?" The commander said putting emphasis on "Clear".
"Yes Sir!" the group said in one voice.
"Good. Now lock and load, you leave in two minutes."  Roy began to walk to one of the falcons, taking the shotgun off his back.
"Just keep your mind focused on the mission and you'll be just fine. After all you are a Spartan." Caroline said as Roy got on to the falcon.
"I know."
"Who are you talking to?" an Odst member said confused sitting next to him.
"I hate it when I remember that I'm the only one that can hear you Caroline." Roy said almost like a whisper.
"I thought you'd be used to that by now?" Roy could picture a smile on her face as she said it. All Roy could do is sigh as the falcon lifted off with the other falcon to go and drop the team off at the objective point.
